Dear Friends,

Thank you for partying with us at “License To Thrill” on Friday night.

You truly were a swellegant crowd – have a look at the great photos here (thank you to James and others for the photos)

So pleased that the pool did get used, after Mike and I got it ready. Always a sign of a good party.

And just delighted with the amount we raised, over $11,000, far more than I had imagined when we set out to plan the party. (If you do wish to make an additional tax deductible donation to Unicef, over and above the ticket contribution, you can do so here at www.everydayhero.com.au/licensetothrill)

Some people to thank:

Mike Cavanagh, Giselle Bigwood and Ben for living through the preparation

James Westcott for helping with the house and photos

Jacqui at designbyjacqui for the stunning invitation and great web design

June and Terry Parsons (Manda’s parents) for helping with the house and research

Bob and Beatrice Cavanagh (Mum and Dad) for party preparation

Jules for interior design and getting the house ready

Pia for helping with the garden

Jens the Ceiling Doctor, Lindsay the Electrician, Browny for masonry, Dion for Carpentry, Terry for painting, Conrad for the new curved glass window (fixed after 30 years the morning of the party)

Chaise and Murray McHenry (of Steve’s) for supplying the delightful drinks

Christian Marriott for donating his mother’s coat and Bond book

Sir Roger Moore for offering signed copies of Bond items

Peter at the Bond Museum for donating VIP tickets to the museum

Lord March and Integrated Energy for the Ultimate Goodwood Experience

Joey and Vince Catania – for donating dinner at Parliament House

Dave Grimes at Heliwest for donating the helicopter flight

Simon McGrath for the excellent auctioneering

Vyonne and Ron at the Art Deco Society

Wendy Caccetta at The Sunday Times

Mabel Perron, Judith and Murray Stannard for inspiration

The Norvilas family for giving me the opportunity to buy Blue Waters

And most importantly my loving wife Amanda for allowing me to do this!

Feels like the Oscars – glad you all enjoyed yourselves.

I had such a good time I would like to do something like it again before too long – if you would like to be involved, especially in the planning, please keep in touch. Keep an eye on www.licensetothrill.org.

Bon temps rollez,
David

Been busy and having fun getting things ready for you all on Friday.

The pool is in good shape – please bring your bathers if you wish for a dip later on.

We have chosen some classic cocktails we think you will enjoy, plus nice champagne, wines and beers supplied by Steve’s Fine Food and Wine.

Bon temps rollez (let the good times roll)

Thank you for planning to join us for “License to Thrill” at Blue Waters on Friday 5th March.

The excitement is building with the house getting party fit and some terrific items on the preliminary list for the charity auction including:

-Ultimate Goodwood Festival of Speed Experience for two - ride in an ex-works rally car, with VIP hospitality and two tickets to the fabulous and exclusive Ball at Goodwood House (courtesy of Integrated Energy and Lord March)

-Dinner for ten at Parliament House Bond Boat experience – on the stylish speedboat from “The Spy Who Loved Me” – a 900 horsepower jet powered thrill Bond items personally signed by Sir Roger Moore for the event

-Bond items kindly donated from the family of the original Miss Moneypenny – Lois Maxwell, and more

-For the serious Bond collector – an opportunity to buy a genuine James Bond Aston Martin from the Bond Museum – please get back to me this week if you are interested.

You will make a lively slice of Perth society and I am sure a good time will be had by all. The press have been reporting the event already – as you may have seen in the recent STM Sunday Times Magazine – and I am sure the society photographers will be out in force on the night.

Just a reminder for the dress code – 50s glamour / early Bond – do try and look the part as I know the girls will be looking sensational.

blue watersTo the practicalities - We will issue you with individually named and numbered tickets for you to bring to the party. A separate bank account has been established for the function. The simplest approach would be for you to transfer funds directly - please contact me for the account details, and then send a note so we have the names of the people in your party and the address where you would like the tickets sent. Alternatively give me a call if you wish to arrange another way.

If you would like to bring additional friends – please feel free but do let us know within the next week as tickets are limited and sales will close on Monday 1st March.

If you are bringing a Bond type pre 1970 classic car we have some special parking in mind for you – let me know. Looking forward to partying with you.

Any questions give me a call, David Cavanagh 0432 201 446.
